Another year, another Golden State Warriors assistant gone?
Following the firing of Ohio State University‘s head coach Thad Motta, one of the names to pop up in the school radar is Warriors assistant coach Mike Brown, according to a report by Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical.
Wojnarowski was told that Brown is still “immersed in the pro game,” and not intrigued by the NCAA at the time being.
Brown is the latest targets of the school after Creighton University head coach Greg McDermott was offered the job. The Buckeyes also had Chicago Bulls head coach Fred Hoiberg in their crosshairs, but he quickly turned down any possibility of taking the job, claiming his focus was with the franchise.

Golden State has had each of Steve Kerr‘s right-hand men leave after their first season at the position, as Alvin Gentry took a head coaching job with the New Orleans Pelicans in 2015, Luke Walton left for the Los Angeles Lakers in 2016, and now the possibility of Brown leaving town after coaching the team to 11 straight wins in the postseason.
The spotlight with the Warriors success has made many front offices in the NBA and athletic departments in Division I schools take notice of Brown's value due to his rapport with players and coaching experience.
Upon the end of the NBA Finals, he likely won't be short of job offers as part of a successful NBA season alongside Kerr.
