Back in 1996, Steve Kerr, then a member of the Chicago Bulls, set the record for most wins in a season with 72. He went on record at the time, saying that he didn't think the mark would ever be broken.

Fast forward 20 years. With the 2015-16 Warriors, Kerr played an integral role in breaking that very record with 73 victories.

Golden State fell just short of their championship aspirations, but that hasn't stopped people from calling for 74 wins in 2016-17, especially with the addition of Kevin Durant.

Having gone through the best two regular seasons in NBA history, Kerr knows how incredibly tough and taxing it is to win that many games. Echoing a similar sentiment expressed by Stephen Curry, Kerr doesn't want Warriors fans to expect 74 wins this coming season.

From the Sacramento Bee:

“I'll say the same thing I said 20 years ago, I don't think this one will ever be broken. Somebody has to go 74-8; I don't see it, and I hope our fans aren't expecting that next year.”

If the Warriors start racking up the wins come October and November, expect rumblings of a possible 74-win season to grow. Just don't ask Steve Kerr to give any thought to it.
