There are many ways to underscore how the NBA's style of play has changed drastically over the years, but perhaps one of the most bizarre is to point to the fact that Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green now has more 3-point makes in the playoffs than Dallas Mavericks Dirk Nowitzki. One Redditor in the name of Scuttleduck did just that.

After making a three pointer today, Draymond now has 150 made three pointers in the playoffs in his career, putting him tied for 44th place. Dirk has 149, and Michael Jordan has 148. Three all time great scorers.

Edit: in fewer games too lmao, Draymond has played 136 playoff games and Dirk played 145. Thanks to the comments that pointed this out.

This golden piece of factoid gets sort of ironic when we consider the idea that Nowitzki was among the chief proponents of big men being afforded the freedom to space the floor by taking shots the likes of Moses Malone and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar wouldn't back in the day.

Green broke his tie with Nowitzki with a triple in Game 2 of the Warriors' second-round date with the Mavs. Green is shooting just 25 percent from behind the arc in the 2022 NBA Playoffs, knocking down just 5 of 20 attempts, but he can really drill them from time to time. His next 3-pointers in the playoffs will move him up another notch in the all-time list, as he is currently tied with Eric Gordon.
