Draymond Green was not pleased with a Portland Trail Blazers assistant urging game officials to keep the Golden State Warriors forward from entering the game, as Green was taking too long to check-in. Green yelled at assistant Jim Moran, who was yelling back in response.

This “snitching” trend started a couple of weeks ago with Chris Paul trying to outsmart the referees after the Oklahoma City Thunder was called for two delay-of-game violations. Paul pointed out Jordan Bell did not have his shirt tucked in, causing referee Scott Foster to give the Thunder a technical free throw, which helped Paul's team send the game to overtime and eventually win it in the extra period.
This recent moment on Wednesday night, however, angered Green — who went for the jugular when asked about the exchange with Moran:

But that’s the league we in,” said Green after a 122-112 loss to the Blazers, making the reference in jest to the 4-0 sweep his team handed Portland last postseason. “Everyone cheating the game, whether it’s cheap-ass fouls or asking for somebody to get delay of games. That's the league we in. But those who cheat the game don't win.”

While Paul's “snitching” was a result of a war of attrition with the officials, this seems to be an assistant fighting for every advantage possible, as the Warriors hung on until the last minutes of the game. Paul's knowledge of the rules is viewed as gamesmanship after referee Brian Forte was accused of “trying to prove a point,” a strategy he used to his advantage later on.
Yet Moran's tactics are viewed in a different light, as he is a non-player trying to give his team an advantage by exploiting something trivial and unnecessary.
