Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry has spent the past week away from the floor while recovering from illness, but he hasn’t lost any of his sense of humor. A viral clip posted to Curry’s Instagram on Monday sparked plenty of laughs across NBA circles, showing Curry absolutely losing it after getting his first look at teammate Jimmy Butler’s latest hairstyle.

In the video, Butler sits calmly in a stylist’s chair as his hair is being braided into long, flowing extensions. Curry walks into the room, stops in his tracks, and immediately bursts into uncontrollable laughter. He doubles over, points at Butler, and can barely catch his breath between laughs.
Butler, of course, leans fully into the moment, striking poses while keeping a hilariously serious expression.
For the Warriors, the moment offers a reminder of how quickly Curry and Butler have developed chemistry, both on and off the court. Butler, acquired from the Miami Heat in the middle of last season, became the perfect complement to Curry’s offensive firepower, giving Golden State a reliable two-way wing presence.
The two helped push the Warriors into playoff contention before Curry’s injury derailed their momentum in last year’s postseason.
Now, with Curry expected to return to the lineup Tuesday against the Oklahoma City Thunder, the locker room energy appears to be in good shape.
Curry has missed the last three games due to illness, and Golden State’s offense has clearly missed his scoring and playmaking. His return gives the Warriors a needed spark as they prepare for a challenging stretch on the schedule.
As for Butler, this isn’t the first time his hair has become a headline. From dreads to twists to the infamous “emo bangs” debut on media day, Butler has leaned into his personality and humor more than ever in recent years. This latest look, and Curry’s reaction to it, only further cements one thing: the vibes in Golden State are as strong as they’ve ever been.
And if the Warriors get healthy? The rest of the West may want to pay attention.
