The Golden State Warriors were able to hold Los Angeles Clippers guard Landry Shamet to just three points in Game 1 of their playoffs series on Saturday night.

Asked about how important it was for them to contain Shamet, Warriors star Kevin Durant said that it was huge for them to stop him from roaming around the perimeter, per Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.

Draymond Green echoed the same sentiments, saying that it's important to take a guy like Shamet out of his rhythm. He added that Shamet is the type of player who can change the flow of the game and perhaps, even the entire series, when he gets going.

The 22-year old standout from Wichita State certainly felt the jitters in his first ever playoff game. It also didn't help that he was going up against the two-time defending champions.

The Warriors held Landry Shamet to just 1-of-6 shooting in his 21-minute postseason debut. With Shamet apparently in Golden State's scouting report, he might just have a tough time getting his rhythm going.

Nonetheless, Shamet is a knockdown shooter, and this series is still a long way from being over. He can definitely get hot at any point in the series, as long as Clippers coach Doc Rivers puts him in better positions to score.

Shamet, selected 26th overall by the Philadelphia 76ers in 2018, has become a major contributor in the Clippers' second surge this season. As Draymond Green mentioned, Rivers uses Shamet similarly to the way he used J.J. Redick in the Lob City era.
