Looney has played in just 10 games this season after signing a three-year, $15 million contract with the Warriors this past summer, and he has had a hard time recovering from a neuropathic condition that has given him trouble for the last few years:

Looney returned for the Warriors’ regular-season opener on Oct. 24, only to leave the game for good after 10 minutes when he hurt his hamstring again. It wasn’t long before he learned that the recurring hamstring issue stemmed from a neuropathic condition in his body that he’d been dealing with for more than two years.
Less than a month after specialists at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., mapped out a recovery plan for him, Looney returned for a Dec. 2 game in Atlanta. But he struggled so mightily during a seven-game stretch that Kerr sat him for a Dec. 18 game in Portland, hopeful that a respite would help Looney recalibrate his approach.
The 23-year-old out of UCLA really solidified Golden State's frontcourt last season, showing an aptitude for switching out onto opposing guards on the perimeter while also acting as a reliable screener and rim protector. However, Looney's injuries have only served as yet another reminder that the Warriors may as well be the walking wounded.
Looney's season has been stagnant. On the flip side, the Warriors are finally building some momentum Golden State won their third straight after defeating the Houston Rockets on Wednesday.
