Stephen Curry broke the all-time record for career 3-pointers made. The Golden State Warriors won on the road. It's easy to think that everything must be good, right? Well, think again.

Through all the success Curry accomplished in his career, one constant has been the presence of Klay Thompson. Sans the other half of the Splash Brothers, the two-time MVP's historic night at Madison Square Garden felt a bit incomplete. It's something Draymond Green pointed out after the Warriors' win over the New York Knicks.

Via Warriors on NBCS:

“I think the only thing missing for me was Klay not being here, just with the road traveled to get here, Klay was a huge part of that. So if anything could have been different, it was that. But other than that, very, very special night for a special person, for a special person. Very special. Great to be a part of.”

It's safe to say that Stephen Curry's road to breaking Ray Allen's record was made easier by the presence of Klay Thompson. While Curry's ability to hit shots is unlike anything we've seen, Thompson brought gravity that attracted opposing defenses when they're on the floor together. This gave Curry more space, and everyone knows the superstar guard only needs an inch of free air to launch those hoop-seeking missiles.

It won't be long before Thompson makes his much-awaited comeback. When that happens, the Warriors' juggernaut will be even more imposing. For now, we're pretty sure Thompson is happily celebrating Stephen Curry's achievement in his own way, whether on a boat, on top of a mountain, or anywhere his free spirit takes him.
