The Golden State Warriors are slowly, but surely, rebuilding their team as Klay Thompson is about to return to action, becoming the next All-Star to make a comeback from an injury for the defending champions.
As reported by Mark Medina of The Mercury News, head coach Steve Kerr entertained the possibility of Thompson returning on Saturday or Sunday. He said that there's a “chance” for the sharpshooter to return after nursing a fractured right thumb for the past 18 days, adding that:
“We’re taking it day-by-day,” Kerr said. “He felt great yesterday and got a really good workout.”
Thompson is one of four of the Warriors stars who have been forced to miss games due to an injury. Splash Brother Steph Curry is out with a grade 2 MCL sprain and may return after the first round of the playoffs. Draymond Green has been out the past four games due to a pelvis contusion and the flu. Kevin Durant was out for six games with a rib injury. Durant and Green, however, have returned to action and are playing against the Milwaukee Bucks tonight.
Earlier, Thompson himself said that he'll back soon. As reported by Janie McCauley of the Associated Press:

“I'll be back soon. One or two more games.”
He also commented on his team's defense:
“Their defense was great tonight, just their effort. They play with great effort, and that's all we ask for.”
Slowly and surely, the Warriors are getting close to 100 percent health. It is guaranteed that Curry will be out for the first round of the playoffs. But it seems that the Warriors just need Thompson, Durant, and Green to hold down the fort.
