Miami Heat veteran Dwyane Wade may have some beef with super media personality Bill Simmons.
The writer/reporter/TV host of ESPN and Ringer took to Twitter to muse about the current playoff matchups if the NBA season ended today. Currently, the Houston Rockets would face the Utah Jazz, and the Miami Heat would play the Boston Celtics, Simmons' favorite team.
Because Simmons is a Boston stan, he decided to make a comment that he was preparing himself for Wade to accidentally injure on the players on the Celtics. He put accidentally in between asterisks as if to put air quotes around the word, because he's Simmons and he likes to insinuate things like that for kicks, it seems.
Houston drawing Utah in round one doesn’t seem fair.
I’m already getting emotionally prepared for a Miami/Boston series with no Kyrie and no Smart plus the unknown Celtic that Dwayne Wade is going to *accidentally* injure. https://t.co/MYPsM82RPI

Well, it appears Wade did not appreciate what Simmons tweeted about him. He saw the tweet and quoted it, saying simply, “It may be you.”
It may be you🤷🏾♂️ https://t.co/Jm3U2UaZ0b

Wade likely didn't appreciate the comment be Simmons, and said that it may be the Boston sports fan himself that draws the ire of Wade and his “accidental” attempt to injure him. So far, Simmons has not replied or said anything about it. But we all know that moment is coming.
The exchange of course is tongue in cheek. Wade would not spend time trying to actually injure a fan. If it happens on the court, it surely is on accident.
But Simmons is unabashedly a Celtics fan, and you know that if that team plays the Heat in the playoffs, Simmons will be at the the games and sit in a place where he can probably say a few words to Wade. Those exchanges will be gold to watch and hear about on the internet.
Until then, though, we have to just wait and see if that playoff matchup comes to fruition. There's still some time for teams to move around.
But for the sake of entertainment, we should all hope for it to happen.
