Myles Turner can continue building Lego masterpieces without having to worry about playing an NBA game this season. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of The Athletic, the Indiana Pacers have shut down the big man for the rest of the 2021-22 NBA campaign.
Indiana Pacers center Myles Turner — out since mid-January with a left foot stress reaction — will miss the rest of the season, sources tell ESPN. Turner has made good progress in his recovery, but the Pacers have only seven games left and will miss the playoffs.
This move by the Pacers on Turner makes sense, as the team is no longer in contention for a playoff or play-in spot in the Eastern Conference. There's just no point in trying to hurry Turner back to action and play meaningless games this late in the season.

Turner, who has not played since January due to a foot injury, has played in just 42 games this season, averaging 12.9 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 2.8 blocks per game. With Turner ruled out, the Pacers will continue having a committee approach at the center position. Jalen Smith, Goga Bitadze, and Oshae Brissett will all get their minutes down the stretch of the season for a Pacers team that simply couldn't find any consistency.
Turner is expected to be back in the 2022-23 season, which is the last with the Pacers, according to his current contract.
