Victor Oladipo says the Indiana Pacers' front office is not like other brain trusts in the NBA.
Oladipo, who has been traded twice while being on a plane, says the Pacers' brass knows players are “human beings” and are sensitive to a lot of things that other organizations gloss over.
“They know we're human beings,” Oladipo said, via Jonathan Abrams of Bleacher Report. “They know that, at the end of the day, things are taken personal. Embarrassment is a real thing. They're going to go out their way to make sure that no one would ever be blindsided to where they'll be on a plane and get traded twice like I did. … It just shows their character and what players mean to them and what people mean to them in general. I'm not saying that the other two organizations that traded me when I was on a plane are bad people or anything like that. It's just they have a different way of approaching things.
“They're very interactive. Some of the other organizations I've been in, I go a whole year without talking to any of them. … [Here], they want us all on the same page.”
The Pacers' front office is led by general manager Chad Buchanan and president Kevin Pritchard.
Head coach Nate McMillan is one of the most respected coaches in the game. You can tell by watching the Pacers play on a nightly basis that the players love playing for McMillan and are ready to put it all on the line for him.
Oladipo is recovering from his knee injury. It's clear from hearing him speak that the Pacers star is very comfortable in Indiana.
