Indiana Pacers guard Victor Oladipo was previously linked to rumors that he wanted out during the offseason. However, it seems like the 28-year-old is fully buying in this season, as he said he would when he tried to dispel all those rumors.

The Pacers' three-game winning streak to start 2020-21 came to an end at the hands of the Boston Celtics on Tuesday night, but Oladipo still had some encouraging words to say for his team after they blew a 17-point lead that ultimately cost them the victory. He believes Indiana's ceiling is high:

“The ceiling for this team is very scary,” Oladipo said, via David Woods of The Indianaplis Star. “We can be a very good team once we figure everything out. We’ve just got to keep getting better, not get discouraged.

Oladipo also lauded new Pacers head coach Nate Bjorkgren, who has inserted a new spirit within the team since he came to Indianapolis.

“Coach is amazing. Coach knows what he’s doing. We’ve just got to trust him. He’s going to trust us. We’re going to lift each other up. When you have that type of combination and the talent that we have, and the coaching staff and the coach that we have, the potential is scary.”

The Pacers gained control of the game coming out of halftime with a 37-point scoring output in the third quarter. However, Indiana eventually faltered in the fourth quarter, going 0-of-6 from beyond the arc along with seven fouls and 10 total turnovers. The Celtics took advantage of the Pacers' disjointed rhythm to mount a comeback led by Jayson Tatum's 27 points, ultimately snagging a 116-111 victory.

Despite the loss, Oladipo managed to show flashes of his All-Star form by leading the team with 24 points, six rebounds, and six assists. Indeed, there is plenty to look forward to for the Pacers in the coming games.

Victor Oladipo and the rest of the team will vie for their fourth win of the season against another resurging squad in the Cleveland Cavaliers on Dec. 31.
