All-Star shooting guard Victor Oladipo participated in everything except scrimmages on the Indiana Pacers' first day of camp.

Oladipo is recovering from a ruptured quad tendon in his knee. The Pacers star suffered the injury on Jan. 23 against the Toronto Raptors and isn't expected to play until December or January.

While Victor Oladipo avoids specifics about his recovery from a surgically repaired right knee, he participated in everything except scrimmaging when the Indiana Pacers opened training camp Saturday.

“He spent the first 20 to 30 minutes of practice going through drills,” said coach Nate McMillan, who was briefed by the medical staff last night on Oladipo's progress after a torn quad muscle Jan. 23. “Nothing with contact. Basically the warm-up part of practice. That was good enough for me to see him out on the floor with his teammates.”

Oladipo averaged 18.8 points, 5.6 rebounds and 5.2 assists for the Pacers last season before he got hurt. The high-flyer shot 42.3 percent from the field, 34.3 percent from beyond the arc and 73.0 percent from the free-throw line.

The Pacers won't rush Oladipo back since his long-term health is the most important thing to the franchise.

In need of scoring while Oladipo rehabs his knee, the Pacers acquired Malcolm Brogdon, TJ Warren and Jeremy Lamb this summer. All three guys can score the ball pretty well.

Brogdon put up 15.6 points per game last season, Lamb averaged 15.3 points and Warren notched 18.0 points per contest.
