It has been an eventful road trip, to say the least for the Oklahoma City Thunder. They have managed to pull out clutch victories in front of raucous crowds and could be adding another to the list soon.

Just days after visiting the former home of superstar forward Paul George, the Thunder will now make the trip to superstar forward Carmelo Anthony's old stomping grounds at Madison Square Garden. Anthony will also get to pay a visit to his former teammate and protege in New York Knicks budding superstar big man Kristaps Porzingis, whom he has become extremely proud of, according to Marc Berman of the New York Post:

“I’m happy man, very excited for him,’’ Anthony said. “It’s his show right now. That’s his and that’s something that I wanted him to understand, that when I was there and even when I left it was something I talked to him about. That’s yours, you’ve got to embrace it. You’ve got to want it, want that challenge. He’s doing that.”

Anthony spent seven seasons in his native New York as their franchise player. Although he enjoyed plenty of individual success, the Knicks were never able to put together a solid playoff run.

Needless to say, it was only a matter of time before his inauspicious tenure there came to an end. Despite the rough years, Anthony maintained his high level of professionalism and even helped groom Porzingis into the Knicks' new franchise player in what was essentially a passing of the torch.

Even while Anthony received scathing criticism from then-President of Basketball of Operations Phil Jackson, Porzingis always showed unwavering support for his veteran teammate. It is clear that mutual respect still exists between the two now that they have moved on.
