The New York Knicks managed their first win of the season against their crosstown rival Brooklyn Nets, following an 0-3 start to the season — but as usual, they depended on their new cornerstone player; Kristaps Porzingis.

Friday night's win capped the unicorn as the first player in franchise history to score 30 or more points in his first four games of the season, according to Tommy Beer of Basketball Insiders.

The 7-foot-3 forward has been efficient for an otherwise hapless team that has struggled in both ends, having only one rough outing against the Boston Celtics, turning out a 12-point dud in 3-of-14 shooting from the field.

With that loss aside, Porzingis has managed to score double-digit field goals in every game — a sight which should become quite common this season given his unique set of skills for his size and position.

The 22-year-old Latvian is set fort a career year now as the lone leader of this Knicks team and should see plenty of touches within the offense moving forward.

Porzingis is topping his career averages so far, totaling 26.5 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game through his first four games with a player efficiency rating of 24.81.
