Not only that, though, but he also had the boots customized for each teammate. Lance Thomas sure seemed very excited upon finding the “LT42” detail on his boots.
Article Continues BelowGetting Timberlands for Christmas would be awesome enough, but for Porzingis to go the extra mile and have them customized put it over the top.
Despite being from Latvia, Porzingis sure knows how New York city culture works. He famously rocked cornrows in his youth, and his gift of Timbs is just pitch perfect for the city’s culture.
But perhaps more importantly than his taste, which is spot on, Porzingis is also showing his leadership style with this gesture of getting his teammates those lit boots.
Kristaps is finally the man this year in New York now that Carmelo Anthony is no longer with the team and the Knicks are actually good with him leading the way. It should only help the team’s morale heading into the New Year that they have a leader in Porzingis who can bring them closer together through the wonderful gift of Timbs.
