New York Knicks third-year forward Kristaps Porzingis has gotten out to a blazing offensive start to the 2017-18 season.
According to Ian Begley of ESPN, 22-year-old has earned Eastern Conference Player of the Week honors for this past week.

This stretch of games includes him becoming the first Knick to record at least 40 points, five rebounds and five blocks since Hall of Famer Patrick Ewing back in March 1995. It has helped elevate Porzingis to second in the league in scoring with 30.2 points per game while recording 30 or more points seven times.
Beyond that, it only further highlights what has been an impressive start to the season for the former 2014 third overall pick where he became the youngest player in team and NBA history to notch at least 30 points in five out of the first six games of a season.
What has been more encouraging about Porzingis' play is that it has led to early-season success for the Knicks, who hold a 5-4 record after winning five out of their last six games. This also includes the Knicks topping the Cleveland Cavaliers on the road in a convincing 114-95 win.
If Porzingis can continue this upward trend, it could not only lead to him putting together a breakout year but also the Knicks making a series playoff push.
