The New York Knicks lost their most recent chance to get back on the winning track on Sunday against the Atlanta Hawks, as their Eastern Conference opponents surged in the fourth quarter to take down New York 99-96. Having lost six of their last eight games, Knicks forward Kristaps Porzingis believes this is due to their inexperience closing games out.

“We don't know how to finish games,” said Porzingis, according to ESPN's Ian Begley. “We don't know how to win games at the end.”

“I can't even process that we lost. I can't believe it. It was our game. It was 100 percent our game. Stuff happened quick, and boom, it was over. We're just not there yet as a team. We keep losing these games.”

Porzingis didn't do himself any favors by going 2-of-5 at the line, but was the all-around star at both ends of the floor, finishing with 22 points, eight rebounds, four steals, and five blocks.

Yet the unicorn was unable to process the 30-25 advantage the Hawks managed to grab in the fourth while the Knicks had all the momentum in their favor after a surging third quarter.

“Our execution can get better, obviously. It's pretty much we're doing the same thing over and over again,” Porzingis added. “Maybe teams know what we're doing. But it's also on us, the players. We also got to execute better. If I had the answer, it would be easier. I don't have the answer.”

The Knicks have now lost three games in a row and will have yet another tough test on Tuesday against the Milwaukee Bucks.
