New Orleans Pelicans superstar big man Anthony Davis asked the team for a trade on Monday, and the Los Angeles Lakers are expected to be one of the first teams in line to acquire him.
The Lakers have quite a few young pieces that could interest the Pelicans, particularly in the form of Kyle Kuzma, Lonzo Ball and Brandon Ingram.
Ingram was asked about the possibility of the Lakers trading for Davis, and he replied, “That’ll be good for the Lakers or whatever team that gets him,” per Ryan Ward of ClutchPoints.
Notice how Ingram said “the Lakers” instead of “us.”
It's obvious that Ingram knows if Los Angeles does indeed trade for Davis, Ingram will be one of the pieces headed back to the Pelicans in return.
This is nothing new for Ingram.

Over the summer, the third-year forward saw his name constantly mentioned in Kawhi Leonard trade rumors, with many speculating that the only way the Lakers could acquire Leonard would be if they traded Ingram in the deal.
Ultimately, the San Antonio Spurs ended up trading Leonard to the Toronto Raptors for DeMar DeRozan and other pieces, but Ingram learned about the harsh realities of the NBA business early on in his career.
The 21-year-old clearly understands that he could be traded at any time for any player, which is what anyone who plays in the NBA should know going in.
On the season, Ingram is averaging 16.6 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.9 assists over 32.8 minutes per game while shooting 47.5 percent from the floor and 30.9 percent from three-point range.
