The Los Angeles Lakers are in some trouble, to say the least.
They were already playing without LeBron James, who has been dealing with a groin injury since Christmas. They have also been sans Rajon Rondo, who is recovering from a second hand surgery this season.
Now, you can add Lonzo Ball to the list of Lakers injuries, as he sprained his ankle in a loss to the Houston Rockets on Saturday night.
Notice a running theme with all of the Lakers' injured players? That's right: they are all point guards.
Without James, Rondo and Ball, a legitimate argument can be made that Lance Stephenson is the best creator on the Lakers' roster, but he is not someone you want to give extended minutes.
As a result, head coach Luke Walton is going to be rolling with Brandon Ingram as the starting floor general:
Luke Walton: “Brandon is going to be our starting point.” Said there’s been some discussion, and no decision yet, about the rest of the group. KCP, Kuzma and Chandler will remain in. They could start Hart, or course, while Walton said Svi Mykhailiuk was “in the discussion.”

Brandon Ingram is averaging just 2.9 assists per game on the season and owns a lifetime average of 2.9 assists a night over three NBA seasons, so he is not exactly Jason Kidd.
Still, with his options so limited, Walton does not exactly have much of a choice.
The Lakers currently own a record of 25-22 and have gone just 4-8 since James went down with his injury, most recently losing to the Rockets by a score of 138-134 in overtime.
While Los Angeles did register an impressive road win over the Oklahoma City Thunder over this recent 12-game span, it has also dropped home games to the New York Knicks and Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Lakers will face the Golden State Warriors on Monday night.
