The LA Clippers want Toronto Raptors star Kawhi Leonard. Badly.

So badly, as a matter of fact, that they have been sending officials to watch his games with the Raptors, almost like a scouting mission.

Up until recently, Kawhi Leonard had no clue that that had been going on.

The Athletic reporter Sam Amick saw \Leonard after the Raptors defeated the Clippers at the Staples Center last Tuesday and exchanged a quick handshake with him.

Who else was in the area? None other than Clippers' president of basketball operations Lawrence Frank.

However, Leonard did not notice that it was him and seemed surprised when Amick notified him of the fact that the man was, indeed, Frank.

Before people start acting like Leonard and Frank not talking with one another and Leonard pretending not to know Frank is some elaborate scheme, let's keep in mind the fact that Leonard is a very quiet and reserved guy in his own right.

Think about it: how often do you ever see any news about Kawhi's personal life?

It's entirely possible that Leonard had no clue the Clippers had been secretly scouting him, even if the Clips appear to be the top potential destination for Leonard when he hits free agency next summer.

If anything, this is just incredibly awkward for the Raptors, who are in the midst of a season in which they genuinely believe they can win a title. It has to be weird knowing that there is another team watching (stalking?) your best player so they can steal him from under your noses in July.
