Currently in the process of a complete roster overhaul, the Lakers have gotten off to a busy start during the offseason. With a ton of new faces coming onboard, the Lakers will have to re-establish strong team chemistry heading into the next season. Now that they've made all these big moves in free agency, it still begs the question: are they actually better than the Clippers now?
Only time will tell if this is the case, especially with the uncertainty of Kawhi Leonard's health going into next season. Were Leonard to be out of the Clippers line-up for the majority of next season, that would hands down make the Lakers the better team, but if he is able to come back at full strength and they are able to build off of their success from last season then that won't necessarily be the case.
However, the Lakers additions of Kendrick Nunn and Malik Monk definitely add a new element to the team and give them more youth and athleticism to surround LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Especially after acquiring veteran stars Russell Westbrook, Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard, and Kent Bazemore previously. Having said all this, let's take a look at a few explanations stating why the Lakers two big moves actually make them better than the Clippers.
The youth and athleticism of Nunn and Monk balance out the Lakers roster
Coming into next season as the oldest team in the league, the Lakers were in dire need of more young legs to give some relief to an older Lakers squad that needs a more youthful exuberance outside of Talent Horton-Tucker. Now that they've added promising young combo guard Kendrick Nunn and electric shooting guard Malik Monk, the Lakers could have an edge over the Clippers next season.

The Clippers have depth and star power as well, but the Lakers have re-tooled and are looking like a true contender once again. They were also missing spacing, playmaking, and dynamism in their backcourt which Kendrick Nunn and Malik Monk now can provide them with.
The Lakers veteran experience outweighs the Clippers depth and star power
LeBron James and Anthony Davis are hands down the best star duo in the league when fully healthy. Add to that the experience and skillsets of Russell Westbrook, Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard, and Kent Bazemore and you've got a star-studded veteran roster that can outwit and outplay any opponent on any given night. This roster bodes first ballot Hall-Of-Famers and savvy veteran leadership that's destined to build incredible on-court chemistry and create mismatches on both ends of the floor.
As deep, athletic, and fierce as the Clippers have been over the past few seasons, this new-look Lakers squad seems poised to make some noise once again next season. After all they're only one season removed from winning the NBA championship, and with some dangerous new additions this offseason, they're bound to make strides and take the league by storm once again.
