It was well known that Los Angeles Lakers guard D'Angelo Russell and coach Byron Scott did not get along very well.

In fact, Russell has had no shame in expressing his delight in playing under Luke Walton.

He recently told the LA Times that he felt last season wasn't what it appeared to be.

Last offseason was Looney Tunes. Wasn’t real. I didn’t get nothing out of it.

He has also stated that he's already having fun and likes the direction the team is headed.

TMZ recently caught up with former coach Byron Scott to ask him about the comments Russell have made about him.

When asked what his relationship with Russell is like now, Scott answered bluntly.

I don't have a relationship with D'Angelo. It is what it is.

Scott was also asked about his job developing the young players and Russell's criticisms about it.

They don't bother me at all because my track record with guards speaks for itself, so I don't pay it really no attention.

Scott was seemingly brought on to coach the Lakers for Kobe Bryant's farewell season, and clashed with the younger players while doing so.

It was unfortunate timing, but the franchise chose to make the theme of the season about Bryant while the younger players were hungry to grow.

Scott is officially enjoying his life off the court and Russell is beginning to enjoy his on the court.
