Heading into the Summer League matchup between the Los Angeles Lakers and Sacramento Kings on Monday night, there was much disappointment stemming from the fact that Lonzo Ball was unable to take the floor against fellow rookie point guard De'Aaron Fox.

In fact, this had even led to one Kings fans to come up with a creative sign bashing Ball for missing the game.

All of this had initially begun with Fox making a subtle tweet directed toward Ball after it was announced that he would miss the game due to a groin injury. It had also brought more attention to their brewing rivalry that has continued to develop over the last several weeks.

However, what made this situation even more intriguing was that Fox exited the game in the third quarter after suffering an ankle injury. It opened up an opportunity for Lakers' Summer League guard Alex Caruso to steal the show with a near double-double performance recording 18 points and nine assists in the 95-92 win.

More importantly, this allowed for Lakers fans to create their own response during the game with a similar type of sign directed at Fox.

All in all, this just creates more hype toward the eventual matchup between Ball and Fox in a meaningful NBA game.
