Following the news of Lonzo Ball‘s absence for tonight's game against the Sacramento Kings, rookie point guard De'Aaron Fox seemingly pulled no punches against his rival counterpart, posting the face-palm emoji presumably in response to Ball possibly dodging the mano-a-mano encounter between the two.

The tweet, since-deleted, was yet another sign of the utter confidence Fox has in his one-on-one abilities, as he was quoted saying he believed he got the best of the Chino Hills native during their two encounters in college.

Fox had the statistical advantage in their first matchup during the regular season despite taking a loss, but made it count even more in a Sweet Sixteen face-off, exploding for a season-high 39 points while guiding the Wildcats to a comfortable win, moving onto the next round while eliminating the Bruins in the process.

Ball suffered a groin injury, which he's believed to have been battling since the start of Summer League, with his team ultimately taking the careful approach and resting him for the night after back-to-back outings over the weekend.

The Lakers' rookie has struggled with his jumper through two games, shooting a combined 7-of-28 from the field and 2-of-16 from beyond the arc. However, he made up for it with his floor game, finishing with seven points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists in his second game for the purple-and-gold.
