Kobe Bryant and Kevin Garnett have a lot of things in common.

They were both drafted straight out of high school. They have one Most Valuable Player trophy each. Both have been named to several All-NBA, All-Defensive, and All-Star teams. They are both champions. Sad to say, they are both recently retired as well.

Bryant was the first one to go via his so-called farewell tour through all of last season, while Garnett kept everyone in suspense until he announced his retirement yesterday. As such, the Los Angeles Lakers great took to Twitter and expressed his reaction to his likely Hall of Fame co-inductee in the near future.

These two has shared highly competitive battles against each other through the years. During Garnett’s MVP season, it was Bryant and the Lakers who eliminated the Timberwolves. They also went head-to-head in two NBA Finals when Kevin Garnett was a member of the Boston Celtics, splitting their June matchups at one apiece.

They now carry with them into retirement a huge chunk of the era that many has loved.
