Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James generated headlines this week when he was caught on tape wildly celebrating his son Bronny's dunk at an AAU game. While most people were fine with LeBron acting like a proud dad, some said that the three-time NBA champion was acting out and should tone down his sideline antics.
Thankfully, when TMZ interviewed AAU director Gary Charles, he claimed that he received zero complaints about LeBron's activity. On the contrary, the crowd actually enjoyed it:
“I thought it was awesome,” Charles said. “The way he went out there and showed pure joy. But what I loved about it was that I was watching a father rooting for his son's team. I watched that family all week. They were first-class every single day. I watched LeBron the way he handled himself, how he was so enthused when these kids were playing. LeBron, I salute you. Keep doing your thing.”
It's silly to complain about LeBron showing enthusiasm for his sons excellent play. James actions obviously keep the crowd entertained and the kids playing on the court love it. Who wouldn't want one of the best players of all time jumping up and down on the sidelines, regardless of what team you're on?
LeBron should not tone down his happiness when Bronny plays well. Here's hoping he'll have many more moments to celebrate.
