Former Los Angeles Lakers guard Alex Caruso officially bids farewell to the franchise as he signs a huge four-year deal with the Chicago Bulls. After news broke out of his move to the Windy City, the 27-year-old immediately went to Twitter to send a huge shout-out to the entire city of LA – his home for the past four seasons.

“Will never forget my time in LA and the #lakeshow fans. Ya'll loved me before it was cool. Genuine love for all of ya'll” Caruso tweeted.

It's a sad day for Laker fans all over the world. Though the franchise brought in a ton of returning weapons with the arrival of big man Dwight Howard, forward Trevor Ariza, and shooter Wayne Ellington, still, losing a fan favorite like Alex Caruso should sting a bit.

The idea of Caruso departing Hollywood started to brew when LA made a huge pick-up ahead of free agency by signing former MVP, Russell Westbrook just last week. Westbrook, obviously, will be manning the frontcourt which leaves little to no room for a guy like Caruso.

Despite his departure, the entire city of LA is more than happy that their former point guard is getting paid huge this summer. Caruso is signing a $37 million deal with the Bulls which clearly the Lakers weren't ready to pay. For context, Caruso's current salary with LA for the past two seasons was a measly $2.7 million per year. Now that's a raise.

Caruso will be joining forces with former Laker teammate in Lonzo Ball who's also on his way to Chi-Town.
