Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis can't fathom how dominant LeBron James is at the age of 35.
While Davis knows that Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo is having a great season and Milwaukee once again has the best record in the NBA, he truly believes LeBron should win the MVP award for everything he has done for the Lakers:
“At 35, what this [expletive] is doing is incredible. He is the MVP,” Davis told Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports after registering 30 points, eight rebounds and two steals against the Bucks. “That’s no disrespect to that [expletive] in Milwaukee. Giannis is having a hell of a year, but if you think about what the most valuable player means, that’s ’Bron to us. Look at our numbers when he’s off the floor. He’s the MVP.”
LeBron has been fresh and active this season for the Lakers on both ends of the court now that his groin is healthy. James is averaging 25.7 points, 7.8 rebounds and 10.6 assists on the season. He’s shooting 49.7 percent from the field, 34.7 percent from beyond the arc and 70.4 percent from the free-throw line.
The Lakers have the best record in the Western Conference. After missing the playoffs last season for the first time since his second year in the league, James sat back all offseason and heard all these NBA pundits slander his name.
As he always does, though, James took the high road and just focused on what he can control.
