The Los Angeles Lakers are listing superstar big man Anthony Davis as probable to face the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday.

Davis, however, said his sore right knee “feels good.”

Davis has been a monster in his first season with the Lakers. The All-Star forward is averaging 27.7 points, 9.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists while shooting 49.8 percent from the field and 85.6 percent from the free-throw line.

In 29 games this season, Davis has 14 double-doubles.

The Lakers have the best record in the Western Conference at 24-7. However, they are currently on a four-game losing streak, bowing to the Indiana Pacers, Milwaukee Bucks, Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Clippers in their recent games. Davis didn’t play versus Indiana.

The long-term health of Anthony Davis and LeBron James is important for the Purple and Gold franchise, so if the two superstars need some rest days moving forward, so be it.

Los Angeles is trying to win the championship this season. They will likely have to defeat the Clippers at some point in the playoffs and that's only going to happen if LeBron and Davis are fresh and healthy.

The Clippers are already 2-0 against the Lakers this season despite LeBron and Davis playing in both games. Clippers star Paul George missed the first matchup because of his two offseason shoulder injuries. For now, the Clippers have won the Battle of LA twice, but the Lakers are still the Kings of the West.
