With the NBA on hiatus because of the coronavirus pandemic, Anthony Davis and the rest of the Los Angeles Lakers are making an effort to stay in shape and ready for when the league may get back underway in the coming months.

Davis recently spoke with Tania Ganguli of the L.A. Times to talk about how he's keeping busy while the 2019-20 NBA season remains suspended. The Lakers superstar has been keeping in contact with LeBron James and his teammates sharing highlights, staying the best shape they can in a difficult situation, and hoping not to miss a beat once the season resumes.

“We’re sending each other highlight tapes because we miss the game,” Davis said. “… Guys are finding a way to work out safely because you know the season isn’t over. We want to make sure we pick up where we left off. We were in a great place.”

Conditioning will be difficult for every player in the NBA as they wait the call from the league games will get back underway. Most superstars like Davis likely have the equipment and a court to stay ready, but the majority of the players in the league probably don't have that luxury.

Lakers guard Quinn Cook is a perfect example. Cook recently posted a video of him trying to stay in shape at his apartment by doing some exercises and running laps in his hallway.

Along with trying to keep in shape in anticipation of the NBA's return, Davis has been doing what most players and Lakers fans have been doing to past the time in their homes by playing video games, watching movies, and catching up on sleep.

“After that have 18 hours left to figure out what I’m going to do,” Davis said. “Video games only last for a little bit. Movies only last for a little bit. I’ve been going to sleep a lot earlier than normal.”

JaVale McGee and Alex Caruso have been among the most avid gamers on the team as they've been streaming themselves playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Fortnite, and FIFA 20.

Only time will tell when or if the NBA season resumes, but it seems safe to say that Davis and his teammates will have to continue waiting for quite some time before the league can figure out how to make it work.
