The Los Angeles Lakers just parted ways with head coach Luke Walton, which means that someone new will be calling the shots for the team next season. Betting odds have been released on who the Lakers' next coach will be, and Juwan Howard is in the driver's seat.

There were already rumblings that Walton would be fired in as early as the first few weeks of the season, but Lakers gave the 37 year-old coach a full season to prove himself. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to get the team to the playoffs.

Walton coached the Lakers for three seasons, ending with a record of 98-148.

Howard's name has just recently been linked to the Lakers, and although he might be on the shortlist of coaches the team might consider, it is unlikely that they will go for an inexperienced individual to replace Walton.

Among the four mentioned names above, Lue is the one with the biggest possibility of getting the job. He already won a championship, he knows how to deal with LeBron, and he has a winning record as a coach.

It is still unclear if the Lakers are going to pick Lue as Walton's replacement, especially since there are several other coaches out there that they can look at. Former Golden State Warriors' coach Mark Jackson is one.

The Lakers are expected to be very busy over the next couple of months. Not only are they expected to make a big splash in the free agency market, but they will also be looking at executives that can help the franchise win.
