TNT analyst Charles Barkley is eating some crow at the moment after the Los Angeles Lakers cruised to their third straight victory over the Portland Trail Blazers, 135-115, in Game 4 of their Western Conference first-round matchup on Monday.
The win gave the West's number-one seed a commanding 3-1 advantage, and they are now just a victory away from the second round.
Prior to the start of the series, Barkley boldly proclaimed that the Blazers will sweep the Lakers if they win Game 1. Shortly after Game 4's result, “The Chuckster” cleared the air and admitted that he was wrong in his initial prediction.
“I would take my hat off the Portland Trail Blazers. They did not quit. They had no chance to win that game in the second half, and they competed. Obviously, I was wrong,” Barkley said, much to the delight of his TNT co-hosts.
Just for good measure, Kenny Smith even hilariously asked Barkley to repeat his admission.

Barkley was extremely cheeky after Portland upset LA in Game 1. The NBA Hall of Famer looked like a prophetic genius when the Lillard-led Blazers ambushed the heavily-favored Lakers, 100-93.
Sir Charles even brought out the brooms after Game 1, much to the annoyance of Lakers legend Shaquille O'Neal. Shaq got his revenge when the Purple and Gold bounced back in Game 2, as he destroyed Barkley's broom.
That humiliating Game 1 loss certainly awakened the sleeping giant in the Lakers, as they completely outclassed the Blazers in the next three games.
To Chuck's defense, the Blazers did not look like the typical under-matched eighth seed heading into the playoffs. They were the hottest team in league up to that point, winning four straight close games in thrilling fashion just to get to secure that final playoff ticket.
LeBron James and the rest of the Lakers, meanwhile, just served Charles Barkley a slice of humble pie. Ease up on the crazy predictions next time, Chuck.
