Los Angeles Lakers head coach Frank Vogel says he challenged power forward Anthony Davis to shoot five 3s a game on the team's current road trip.
Vogel thinks Davis can knock them down consistently from deep and it’ll really open up the court and change the way teams have to defend the superstar. AD has made seven total 3s in the Lakers' last two games.

After Friday’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, where he made a season-high four 3-pointers, Davis is now shooting 34.1 percent from beyond the arc. The six-time All-Star is averaging 25.8 points, 9.1 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.9 blocks while shooting 48.1 percent from the field and 88.1 percent from the free-throw line.
Behind Davis and James, the Lakers are 13-2 on the season. They currently have the best record in the NBA. The more comfortable Davis gets from the 3-point line, the more dangerous the Lakers become on offense. AD is already impossible to defend in the post. With the way LeBron collapses defenses on his drives to the hoop, Davis is going to feast from beyond the arc.
The Lakers have won six games in a row. They will look to make it seven straight on Saturday against the Memphis Grizzlies.
