Anthony Davis had a dominant performance in his preseason debut for the Los Angeles Lakers. The former no. 1 overall pick led the Lakers to an easy 123-101 victory over the Golden State Warriors.
Frank Vogel, who also made his debut as head coach of the Lakers, raved about his superstar forward. He's also excited to see what AD will be able to do for them this season, per Mark Medina of USA Today.
Lakers coach Frank Vogel on Anthony Davis: "He’s a monster. It’s going to be very difficult to slow him down with what we have around him. I’m excited about what he’s going to do. Lakers fans should be, too."

Davis scored 18 points on 9-of-16 shots in just two quarters of work. He added 10 rebounds, two assists, and one steal to round out his impressive debut for the Purple and Gold.
Obviously, if you've followed Davis in his days with the New Orleans Pelicans, you would that Davis is as unique as they come in terms of what he can do on the floor. Now, being in the lime light in Los Angeles should help the generational player's star shine brighter.
The All-NBA forward immediately displayed great chemistry with his new partner-in-crime, LeBron James as the two connected on multiple instances. If their first game together is any indication of how their season will go, then the league better watch out, because the Lakers are serious contenders to make it all the way to June.
Of course, as with any preseason game, Lakers fans should take their dominant win over the new-look Warriors with a grain of salt. Teams are obviously still feeling each other out, and their chemistry will develop as the season progresses.
Then again, that's also the case for this newly constructed Lakers squad. If they looked impressive now, what more when we reach the deeper waters of the 2019-20 season.
