Los Angeles Lakers forward Julius Randle has seen his emphasis on improving over the summer pay off this season with multiple top-of-the-line games for the purple-and-gold.

Most recently, he co-led his team in scoring and rebounding along with rookie Kyle Kuzma, as they both posted an eerily similar 26 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Lakers to a 112-103 win over the Denver Nuggets, tying the regular season series at two games apiece.

Asked what spurred these types of gaudy performances, the Dallas native attributed it all to his offseason grind.

“Work. Just putting in the work during the summer and throughout the season, and it’s paying off now,” said Randle, per Ryan Ward of ClutchPoints. “I try to come out with a team mindset mentally.”

Randle is also coming off a show-stopping 36 points and 14 rebounds against the Cleveland Cavaliers, shooting a white-hot 14-of-18 from the field in a 127-113 victory over LeBron James and some of his former teammates.

The Lakers have made huge strides at both ends of the court, which has helped them to eight victories in their last 10 games down the stretch, which hasn't gone unnoticed by head coach Luke Walton.

“I loved the grit that we played with tonight, especially in that fourth quarter getting those stops that we hadn't gotten in the two times they beat us this year,” said Walton.

Los Angeles will tune into a back-to-back scenario, facing the Golden State Warriors on the road, who have lost two games in a row without Stephen Curry in the lineup.
