Kendrick Perkins has been known to make the occasional odd statement that ruffles more than a few feathers. The former NBA champion turned ESPN broadcaster has now come out with his latest hot take involving Stephen Curry and the late, great Kobe Bryant, and let's just say Los Angeles Lakers fans aren't going to be all too pleased about this one.
On a recent episode of ESPN's First Take, Big Perk was faced with a daunting question about who he would rather start a franchise with. Colleague Chris “Mad Dog” Russo asked Perkins to pick between Curry and Kobe, to which Perk hesitated a bit before blurting out his three-word response (h/t First Take on Twitter):
“I’m taking Curry,” Perkins said.
To be fair, Perkins took some time before answering the question, which proves that it was not an easy pick for him. Host Molly Qerim then asked Perkins if this was a “no-brainer” decision for him, to which the latter responded honestly:

“It’s not an easy one to answer,” Perkins admitted.
.@KendrickPerkins is taking Steph Curry over Kobe all-time 😳🤔 pic.twitter.com/f9YVo4TxrZ

Big Perk isn't exactly a favorite among Lakers fans, and this one is just going to further decrease his likability with them. Some might even consider his statement here as a slanderous take against arguably the greatest players in Lakers franchise history.
Then again, you also have to note that Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry is the greatest shooter of all time. He's also now also just one championship behind Kobe's five titles, and the best part about it is that Steph can actually win more in the next few years.
