The Lakers know what they’re going to get from LeBron and Davis on a nightly basis. It’s guys like Danny Green, Rajon Rondo, Howard, Kuzma, McGee, Avery Bradley, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Jared Dudley who have to show up once the playoffs start and play sound basketball on both sides of the floor.
Article Continues BelowIt's nice, though, to have two of the best players in the world in LeBron and Davis at the top. The Lakers are hoping the two stars can bring banner number 17 to the franchise in 2019-20.
In his first season with the Lakers, James averaged 27.4 points, 8.5 rebounds and 8.3 assists in 55 games while shooting 51.0 percent from the field, 33.9 percent from beyond the arc and 66.5 percent from the free-throw line.
Davis, meanwhile, put up 25.9 points, 12.0 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 2.4 blocks in 56 games with the New Orleans Pelicans last season. The six-time All-Star shot 51.7 percent from the floor, 33.1 percent from the 3-point line and 79.4 percent from the charity stripe.
Thompson will miss a big chunk of the upcoming season recovering from his ACL tear. As a result, many pundits believe the Warriors will struggle to compete with the elite teams in the West, such as the Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers and Houston Rockets.
