When it comes to Los Angeles Lakers legendary retired shooting guard Kobe Bryant, it was no secret to anyone that the Black Mamba was one of the best players ever to step foot on an NBA court. Many will even argue that he was the best to ever do it.
According to a post on Reddit the other day from user Leaootemivel, Bryant did something that legendary Chicago Bulls guard Michael Jordan never did. Fellow Lakers legend Wilt Chamberlain, who was the only other player besides Bryant to average at least 40.0 points per game in an entire month, only did it once.
It's just ridiculous how only Kobe was able to accomplish this. Not even Jordan averaged 40 for a whole month. Here are Kobe's stats in those months:
February 2003 – 40.6/4.9/3.6 on 47.2/42.9/84.6 (58.4 TS%)
January 2006 – 43.4/5.6/4.1 on 47.0/39.7/89.7 (61.1 TS%)
April 2006 – 41.6/5.5/3.6 on 50.9/41.3/82.4 (62.1 TS%)
March 2007 – 40.4/6.2/4.5 on 45.9/37.2/86.5 (57.5 TS%)
That is absolutely insane. This new generation of basketball fans, as there are now 18-year-olds who were not born in the 1990's, never really got to get a full grasp of exactly how amazing Bryant was during his prime.

However, according to a comment in the thread from user AhKeyno, the times might be changing with this younger generation putting a new variation with Golden State Warriors superstar point guard Stephen Curry into the mix.
“This newer generation might stop soon though. My nephew (6yo.) started saying ‘Curry!' and I nearly lost it,” he said.
