Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has nothing but love and admiration for Austin Reaves and the work he put in to make his NBA dreams a reality.

On Wednesday, James retweeted a Los Angeles Times report featuring Reaves and his story from working in their Arkansas farm to making his way to the NBA.

Reaves was an undrafted free agent in 2021 after playing in Wichita State and Oklahoma in college. He managed to land a two-way contract with the Lakers, with the team eventually signing him to a standard NBA contract after a string of solid performances from the young guard.

James absolutely loved it that Reaves shared his story for the world to see, and he teased Lakers fans that the 24-year-old is just getting started.

“My guy, my dog- telling his story and love that he getting the attention he deserves. Laker Nation has something very special and he just getting started,” James wrote.

While the casual NBA fan and non-Lakers follower would say that LeBron James was simply hyping up Austin Reaves, the Purple and Gold faithful will definitely disagree.

Reaves showed flashes of brilliance and potential to be a solid contributor, averaging 7.3 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 61 games for the Lakers in his rookie year. He also started in 19 games, impressing then-head coach Frank Vogel with his gritty style on defense and ability to do the right play with his passing.

With head coach Darvin Ham, hopes are high Reaves can take the next level in his game. One thing is for sure, though, James will always be a big supporter.
