Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James admits he feels bad for his 2019-20 LA teammates who didn't get to experience a championship parade, especially those who won it for the first time.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, LeBron highlighted the importance of a championship parade for any sports team, noting that it is the culmination of all the hard work they put throughout the season. Not to mention that the 2019-20 championship of LA is particularly noteworthy because of the COVID-19 pandemic that shut down the campaign for months before returning on a bubble set-up.
While many question the legitimacy of the championship and want to put an asterisk on it, LeBron has repeatedly said it is the most difficult title win for him because of the whole situation. Considering that, having no championship parade was understandably frustrating.
LeBron James, when asked about the Lakers not getting a parade in 2020, said he feels most bad for his teammates who won their first championship that season, adding a parade is the culmination of a team’s hard work.

LeBron James recently made headlines after he proposed a joint parade with the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Dodgers. The Rams recently won Super Bowl 56, while the Dodgers bagged the World Series title in 2020. The latter also didn't get a championship celebration because of the pandemic.
It remains to be seen if the proposal from the Lakers star will push through, but fellow LA star Mookie Betts is certainly open to the idea and responded to LeBron's tweet with “Let's do it!”
If this happens, though, it will certainly be a crazy day in LA. One can also expect it to be star-studded. Of course one concern is for those players part of the championship teams but are no longer in LA. Hopefully, they'll figure that out.
