Despite the fact that the Los Angeles Lakers had one of their worst seasons in recent history, there's still no denying that LeBron James played some of the best basketball of his career over the past few years. The final tally for the league's Most Valuable Player has been revealed and it's hard not to think that LeBron was disrespected with the lack of votes he received.
Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic took home the title after edging out Sixers big man Joel Embiid in one of the tightest races in recent memory. For his part, however, the Lakers superstar received a grand total of just one vote — a fifth-place one at that (h/t Bleacher Report on Twitter):

To be fair, Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant also balled out this season — when he was healthy, at least — but he too received just one fifth-place vote. Exactly the same number as LeBron did.

I know that winning has become one of the most important factors of a player's MVP credentials and there's no denying that LeBron and the Lakers failed miserably in this category. Nevertheless, the amazing things the Lakers superstar did at 37 years of age still deserve some sort of recognition, right?
