Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has been quoted as saying he likes to get his teammates involved in the first quarter of games instead of scoring because he wants to feel out the game first.
Monday night against the San Antonio Spurs, that tactic by James didn't work out too well.
The Lakers trailed the Spurs 40-26 after the first quarter, and LeBron James didn't score in the quarter, marking the first time in 321 days that has occurred.

For the Lakers to be competitive this season, LeBron James has to be aggressive at all times and look for his shot. He can't play timid and not score the basketball. This Lakers team isn't talented enough to survive games in the rugged Western Conference if James is not scoring at a high clip.
LeBron James is the best player in the world, so you would expect him to wake up eventually and start to score more. James only finished with four points at halftime.
