Superstar small forward LeBron James will miss his second-straight game with a strained groin on Friday night when the Los Angeles Lakers take on the Los Angeles Clippers at Staples Center, according to Dave McMenamin of ESPN.
LeBron James suffered the groin injury on Christmas Day against the Golden State Warriors at Oracle Arena. The four-time league MVP didn't play on Thursday versus the Sacramento Kings.
The Lakers lost to Sacramento, 117-116, on a Bogdan BogdanoviÄ game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer.

In his first season with the Lakers, LeBron James is averaging 27.3 points, 8.3 rebounds and 7.1 assists per game while shooting 51.8 percent from the field, 35.6 percent from the 3-point line and 68.2 percent from the free-throw line. The King has recorded 17 double-doubles and three triple-doubles.
The Lakers enter Friday with a record of 20-15, fifth place in the Western Conference standings.
Before he missed the game versus the Kings on Thursday, LeBron James had played in 156 consecutive games. It was the first game LeBron had missed since the 2016-17 season when he was with the Cleveland Cavaliers. James is likely going to miss multiple games until his groin strain feels better, so this is a big stretch for the Lakers.
Josh Hart will likely start on Friday alongside Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Brandon Ingram and Ivica Zubac.
