The last time the Los Angeles Lakers signed a superstar of incredible magnitude and quickly secured a movie deal, that player brought us one of the biggest critical and commercial failures of all time in Steel. With LeBron James officially going Hollywood, the 6-foot-8 forward is looking to follow on the Big Aristotle's footsteps with a couple of big-screen productions of his own – including another comedy film in which he plans to star in.

Variety reports that James, in conjunction with his production company SpringHill Entertainment, has pitched an untitled comedy film to Paramount Pictures with the intention of having the new Lakers star acting in it. There's no word yet on whether it's the lead role that James will be playing although actor Steve Mallory will be penning the script.

This isn't technically the first acting job for James, since he already has had several appearances (all playing himself) in shows like “Entourage” and Judd Appatow's film “Trainwreck”. The recent announcement of a Space Jam sequel could possibly mark his true acting debut, although if it's anything like the original “Space Jam” – the four-time NBA Most Valuable Player would most likely be playing himself as well.

If the Paramount comedy will feature a character for James to play, it will certainly be the turning point for his budding acting career.
