Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James took to social media to thank those who congratulated him after winning the 2020 NBA championship. Several notable names sent praises and commendations to the former No. 1 overall pick, including former U.S. President Barack Obama and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady.

Brady, who joined the Buccaneers prior to the start of this season, congratulated James for winning his fourth title. As part of his message, Brady noted that it wasn't a bad effort for “a washed up old guy.” It's a theme that ran throughout this campaign, as LeBron was playing in his 17th season. Despite this fact, he showed little to no signs of regressions, as he went on to claim his fourth Finals MVP award.

Barak Obama sent a longer message to LeBron James, commending the Akron native for his longevity and extraordinary leadership traits on the court. The Lakers superstar, who shares a cordial relationship with the former president, responded with an appreciative thank you in reply:

Impressively, LeBron James and the Lakers posted gentleman sweeps over each of their opponents in the Western Conference Playoffs. In the NBA Finals, the Miami Heat pushed Los Angeles to six games. In the end, though, the Larry O'Brien trophy went to Los Angeles — their 17th, which ties them with the Boston Celtics for the most in league history.

As of right now, the Lakers are being viewed as a favorite to repeat as champions. However, the NBA has not announced an official start date for the ensuing campaign.
