Los Angeles Lakers superstar small forward LeBron James helped start the “More Than A Vote” movement which is trying to end voter suppression.
Over the years, James has understood the importance of voting and he's trying to do everything he can to get more and more people to vote in the upcoming election.
However, James did admit to Lakers reporters on Thursday that he never thought about voting when he turned 18 years old and became eligible to vote. Why? Because James was focused on buying his mom, Gloria James, a house.
In talking about the importance of voting that has become clear to LeBron over the years, and part of why he started his More Than A Vote iniative, he recalls not thinking about it when he was 18: "The only thing that was on my mind was buying my mom a house."

LeBron James went straight from high school to the NBA in 2003. Gloria James raised LeBron as a single mother with not a lot of money. As everyone knows, LeBron and his mother are very, very close.
LeBron James has already announced he's going to endorse Joe Biden for the upcoming election, which isn't a surprise given his beef with Donald Trump. Golden State Warriors superstar point guard Stephen Curry and his wife will also be voting for Biden.
LeBron James and the Lakers will face the Houston Rockets in the second round of the playoffs. LeBron and his teammates will be well-rested since they've been off for a week. Lakers fans, though, are praying the players on the team won't be rusty against James Harden, Russell Westbrook and the high-powered Rockets.
