LeBron James may have yet to commit to the Los Angeles Lakers beyond the 2022-23 season, but it is quite clear he is as motivated as ever.
Amid reports that the Lakers are unlikely to get a commitment from him ahead of the 2022 NBA Draft and free agency, James took to his Instagram stories to show that his focus remains on two things: improving himself even though he is heading to his age-38 season and competing for the championship.
“Man I can't wait for the Fall! So ready to get back out there. So motivated,” the Lakers leader wrote.
LeBron James also posted videos of his intense workout before highlighting he is “a lunatic to the grind.”
If you are a Lakers fan, this is definitely what you want to see from your superstar player. Furthermore, amid Anthony Davis' revelation that he hasn't touched a basketball since April, at least the Purple and Gold faithful can find some solace from the fact that LeBron remains inspired and determined to get them back to the promised land.
James is in the twilight of his career, and while he continues to play at a high level, it is clear from 2021-22 that Father Time is catching up to him. He is doing his best to extend his good years further, and he's definitely doing a good job at it.
Hopefully with the work he's putting in, the Lakers can start competing again.
