LeBron James just returned from his left groin strain this past week. Although James had never spent extended time out with injury, he still needs to let his body heal completely before exerting his full effort.
Before he even came back from injury, his camp let the Los Angeles Lakers know he would need to take an unspecified amount of time off.
James' health is his importance, especially as he creeps toward age forty.
After Tuesday's contest against the Indiana Pacers, James mentioned how he's “getting better and better.”

“I was able to get a dunk. That means I'm getting better and better. I'm still not at a 100 percent with my injury and also my timing. I had some turnovers. That's going to come with my rhythm, so I was able to get up there and be very explosive vs. a top shot blocker in our league right now, so that lets me know I'm on my way to being myself once again. Everyday and every game and every session of rehab and treatment and things of that nature, just being back on the floor with the guys allowed me to be more comfortable with my game.”
His health will be of definite importance if the Lakers end up acquiring a star. This past week the Lakers have been trying to acquire big man Anthony Davis from the New Orleans Pelicans.
James will continue to improve his health and gear his body towards a deep playoff run.
